Full Council 10/26/09 -Leadership meeting Debrief -KIVA check still awaiting OK -Grant proposal for junior prom to go next week -Mr. Isenberg informs us of administration news: grants v. loans, money issues -Should junior prom have a formal proposal? Yes-ish. Many members say no, but it is to be done next week in whatever form it takes. EduDev: -Campaign rules debate: -Campaign promises, but not allowed to say we'll give you stuff. -Limit promising stuff or no? We can be reasonable voters maybe. -No promising of a gift. You can still give it to them. but dont make it public? -Maybe say you can advertise gifts before election, but can't give them out until AFTER election. -Anything-goes policy before election? -Anything-goes gains shaky consensus among members, but reservations exist about laptops. -General feeling that gifts are okay before election, but laptop/forced voting are not ok -Candidates cannot be around laptops. How do we structure this? -How are we going to enforce this? -Perimeter enforced by security? Candidates cannot be within certain area? What about people voting on phones with candidates accidentally walking by/voting outside of school? -Bottom line seems to be that we are unhappy about candidates cheating by voting FOR themselves through force. (putting a laptop in someone's face) -Will Riley will do campaign rules legislation, putting in ideas discussed today. -Will Riley will do announcement Thurs. during Advisory about town hall: OCt 29th after school Band room. -Master calendar/Google CAlendar for club leaders/ students of all clube events? -JSA grant proposal passes.
