Full Council: -Leadership meeting debrief: it went well, they discussed media rankings of NCP. -Consensus is that Northside is number one, but so is Payton...kind of. -We are drafting a new constitution because the line of succession we passed last session would fit conveniently into a brand new constitution. There are many intertwining issues, as Mr. Devine noted. -We might be turning Student Council into a colloquium second semester. Some members vehemently opposed. Roll call vote was taken; 6 opposed, 2 in favor, 7 abstaining. Una will talk with Isenberg, admin. -StAff needs to be more on time, help break down after dances more. EduDev is beating StAff. EduDev minutes: -Campaign regulations are introduced by Will Riley. -Markup period follows introduction: Version introduced by Riley is too complex and written in legalese; it will be very good for new constitution because it is so all-encompassing and holds up well under scrutiny. However, a simpler, one-page version should be drafted to hand to candidates so they can understand it. -Suggested amendments: laptop rules should be better defined so as not to have unfair accusations. Trials should be condensed so they are not so complex. Instead of having two votes (one on accusation, one on conviction) we should have one session with only seniors (so as to avoid bias, because seniors cannot vote) and the accused. Emergency meetings can be called to hold trials. -WE need to vote and change bill (markup) before showing MR. Devine, which is the next step. -Will Riley will work on website and send electronic copies of bill to all EduDev members for markups.
